TEK SÉANCE :: COLLECTIVE DEEP INTERNET TRAWLING // FOR A/L/S/P
Andrew Haining, Katherine Corcoran and Alex Clapham
Saturday May 28
11am – 4pm
Free – All Welcome

TEK SÉANCE is a collective cyber trawl. Searching the depths of the Internet, we connect, collect and communicate a process that is often encountered alone. You are invited to bring your own device and to participate in an exchange of tangential Internet research ~ filtering emerging forms, links, sounds, images and theories to create a shared circuit of knowledge.

THE ARTIST AND THE SCIENTIST // FOR SARA MORAWETZ
Saturday May 28
11am – 12:30pm
Free – All Welcome

In a conversation between partners and collaborators, Sara Morawetz and Darren Engwirda ‘The Artist and the Scientist’ discuss the scientific phenomena that inspired Sara’s current show Time is a Fluid Construct. Dealing with a range of subject matter, from the mechanics of Martian time-keeping to the relationship between leap seconds and the motion of the moon, the duo seek to conflate ideas of art, science and philosophy — attempting to grapple with the artistic and cultural consequences that can emerge from scientific endeavour.

Sara is a Ph.D. candidate at Sydney College of the Arts whose research examines the methodological intersections of science and conceptual art practices. Darren is a post-doctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies who specialises in computational modelling and simulation.
