Essential Install Skills Led by Kate Brown
Tuesday 15 August, 5:00pm – 8:00pm;
Saturday 19 August, 10:30am-1:30pm

Learn how to install artworks of all shapes and sizes and how to deinstall your work correctly! We will teach you the basics of picture hanging and mounting, patching and painting, and installing difficult or non traditional artworks just like they do at the major galleries!

Kate Brown is an Australian based artist and vocalist working across mediums, spanning performance, sound and installation. Kate is currently focusing on experimental performance and voice in relation to how bodies and architecture carry and collect sound. Kate works on the installation crew as an AV and lighting technician at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

Learn how to get your video from your computer screen into the gallery! We will teach you the basics of file types and formats, media players, displays and projectors, sound equipment and cable and power management. Led by an industry professional!

Dara Gill is a video artist, UNSW Galleries production coordinator, past Kudos Gallery coordinator and past Firstdraft Director. Dara has been an AV Installer for various Sydney galleries including Artspace Sydney, Galleries UNSW & Carriageworks.
