EP 01, AIMEE FLORES
In episode one we speak to Aimee Flores about Sangre Migrante and Between Sacred Lands and the experiences which led her to co-create these two important platforms for the Latinx community in Sydney.
Aimee Flores is a half Colombian, half Chilean community worker who was born on Darug land and raised on Gadigal land. She is a first-generation Australian who is deeply passionate about sharing authentic stories from her Latinx community.
She created Sangre Migrante in 2017, which was originally a project conducting and sharing interviews with the Latin American community in ‘so-called’ Sydney. Sangre Migrante has now evolved to be an inclusive space welcoming and encouraging creative submissions from an ever-present and emerging Latin American community. Aimee is also a co-host of a brand-new podcast by Sangre Migrante called Between Sacred Lands. With all the work she does she hopes to educate, inspire and empower her community and beyond.
A collaborative playlist of Latinx sounds by guests on Entre Todo, Todxs.
Songs 1-5 selected by Aimee Flores. Look out for weekly updates!
