AUDIO DESCRIPTIONS - UNION MADE

Welcome to the exhibition Union Made. This exhibition was curated by Anthia Balis, Tesha Malott and Ann Stephen. The exhibition opens on the 24th of August 2024 in the Power Gallery at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, located at the University of Sydney, Gadigal Country.

For the purpose of the audio descriptions, we have referred to the walls and their content in this exhibition by using the numbers 1 through 4. The gallery space is rectangular in shape.

From the entrance and starting on the right is wall 1: Student Activism. The adjoining wall is Wall 2: Wentworth Modernism. Continuing to the right is Wall 3: European Tradition and Regional Landscape and then Wall 4: Contemporary Indigenous Works: Utopia and Arnhem Land. In the centre of the room are two red vitrines or display cases.

These audio descriptions were co-designed by Anthia Balis, and Sarah Empey, and aim to provide enhanced accessibility for all visitors, including those who are blind or have low vision.
